I’m pleased to send the first of what will now be a regular quarterly update from our General Manager, keeping you informed about the Club and sharing what’s ahead.
Financial Update
The first quarter has closed with a positive financial result, posting a profit of $166,040. One of our immediate strategic priorities is debt reduction, and I’m pleased to report that our net cash/debt position has improved by approximately $133,000. The Board and management will soon review the Club’s strategic direction and set priorities for the next three years to ensure we continue strengthening the Club and supporting our members.
Member Rewards & Club Grants
From 1 July, we enhanced our member birthday rewards program, increasing both the value and the redemption period. We’ve already seen a great response from members and hope you’re enjoying the improvements. If you are unsure of your rewards or would like further information, please speak with a member of our team.
The Club was also proud to support community organisations through Category 1 funding via the Club Grants Program. This year, funding supported:
- Engadine Christmas Carols organised by Connect Church
- Loftus Public School, to invest in their multi-sensory room
- Morris Children’s Fund, providing music therapy for children with a disability
The next Category 2 grant round will soon open to local sporting clubs and community groups in the 2233 postcode. For details, visit our website.
Club Improvements
We continue making improvements across the Club to enhance your experience:
- Members’ Lounge furniture is being refreshed, with high stools recently updated and options for replacing tub chairs underway.
- New displays near Reception showcasing the Club’s history, including honour boards and historic photos, with content updated regularly.
- Investigations have begun into the asphalt failure in the rear driveway, and a permanent solution is being sought so the road plate can be removed.
Upcoming Events
As the holiday season approaches, some of the Club’s most anticipated events are just around the corner:
- 101 Christmas Ham Raffles: Commencing Thursday, 20 November, with weekly draws every Thursday leading up to Christmas.
- Friday Night Christmas Raffles: Commencing Friday 21 November, with hams to be won and throughout December additional prizes of rolled pork, turkeys and gift cards.
- Christmas Seafood Raffle: Tuesday 23 December we will be giving away $2,500 of seafood.
The holiday season is also a time for giving. We are proud to continue supporting The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal. A Christmas Giving Tree will be set up near Reception, where gifts and food donations can be made to help those in need. Donations will be accepted until Sunday 7 December.
Thank you for your continued support of the Club. We look forward to celebrating the holiday season with you, your family, and friends. Keep an eye on upcoming events via our website and emails.
Kind regards,
Chris Roberts
